SafeHouse Newsletter for January

Happy New Year Partners and Friends!

It’s a new year for SafeHouse of Jacksonville.  This year, we plan to do many community outreaches, as we have been helping more needy families than ever in our city this past year.  As the Pastor of SafeHouse, I saw the need coming 11 years ago.  Today, many families with children have no food, no money, live in a car with no gas or worse live on the streets.  The economy has worsened; jobs have become scarce; housing unaffordable; and the need for help has increased to where now over 700 families are helped each month with food alone.

At the present time, we receive no state or federal funding.  We operate on the generosity and donations provided by you, our partners. In this new year, 2012, won’t you please help us so that we may help those who need us the most?  I can’t do it without you.  In the next four weeks, I will be out and about, visiting many of you, asking you to be part of our adopt-a-family program. In this manner, you can help by adopting one of our families.  Together we can make a great difference in improving the circumstances of these families.

Your financial pledge is needed now so that SafeHouse can continue to operate for another year.  If you would like, you can call me at 904-425-4228 here at the church or you can call me on my cell phone at 904-591-1178 to find out more on how you can help.  Whichever way you chose, thank you for supporting our efforts to give the help to our community.  No one should have to go hungry.  Thank you for helping those in our community get back on their feet.

Proverbs 11:12 says a generous man will prosper, he who refresheth others will himself be refreshed.

I pray refreshment in your family and business,

Pastor Joseph Howell
